American Express is making an ambitious move to expand the number of credit card products and services it offers business clients. The company announced a number of new initiatives on March 25 that it plans to bring to market this year to help businesses succeed.

American Express will be introducing or enhancing eight new products and benefits in 2026 likely to appeal to business credit card users. The company said the updates represents the most significant expansion of its commercial products to occur in a single year in the recent history of American Express.

“Our expertise is unmatched,” Raymond Joabar, Group President of Global Commercial Services at American Express, said in a press release on the company’s new solutions. “Regardless of a business’ size or stage of growth, they need trusted partners who deeply understand the complexities of their business.”

Joabar added that American Express’ solutions can help simplify a company’s operations, allowing its leaders to keep their eyes on managing the business and planning for the future.

American Express launched a new business credit card on March 25 and has another one on deck for later in the year.

CardRates covered the launch of the new Graphite Card from American Express in an earlier story this week. The company last issued a new card for businesses in 2019, according to a report from Payments Dive. But that isn’t the only new credit card American Express has in store for businesses this year.

The company plans to offer a new credit card in the fall that gives cardholders an uncomplicated method of earning cash back. The Corporate Cash Back Card from American Express will also come with a new experience during the application and onboarding process.

Transforming Operations With Artificial Intelligence

Having the right credit card can give business owners the confidence they need to take advantage of growth opportunities. But businesses can also benefit from tools that help them track and make the most out of their card spending.

The product push from American Express in 2026 includes new software that helps businesses stay on top of expenses. The company plans to roll out a system that offers card and expense management tools together in one platform.

Customers will be able to use the solution to request both physical and virtual cards as well as unlock insights on their company spend.

American Express is also leveraging the capabilities of artificial intelligence to help its business customers gain efficiencies and introduce more automation to their processes. The card issuer is offering a new agent that can help businesses report on their spend and get a better picture of where their money is going.

Artificial intelligence is a key component in many of the solutions American Express is introducing for business customers in 2026.

A new mobile app will help simplify the expense management procedures for American Express corporate card customers. It will prompt cardholders to submit a picture of their receipt to the app so the tool can review the document and send the expense to the appropriate department for approval.

For many businesses, cutting down on costs can be nearly as important as growing revenue. American Express is offering a statement credit of up to $300 per year to certain business cardholders to purchase ChatGPT Business subscriptions. Companies that own a Business Gold Card or Business Platinum Card with American Express can access the credit.

“AI will play a central role in how we deliver better payment and spend management experiences for our business customers, and businesses need financial software that simplifies their financial back office, backed by people who understand their distinct needs,” Joabar said.
