United Credit Cards: Chase offers six United credit cards, including both personal and business versions. You also receive extra perks from United, such as free checked bags or priority boarding.

IHG® Rewards Cards: Chase’s IHG credit cards offer extra rewards when you stay at IHG hotels.

J.P. Morgan Reserve: You can’t apply for this card, as it’s only available by invitation to elite cardholders. But if you are lucky enough to get it, you will receive at least 12 months of free DashPass. Like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the J.P. Morgan Reserve card also offers a $5 monthly credit that you can use for eligible purchases.

Aer Lingus: Aer Lingus is Ireland’s official airline, and this Chase card offers a sign-up bonus for new cardholders and other airline perks.

British Airways: With this card, you’ll get extra cash back on British Airways and other travel purchases. There is also a significant sign-up bonus after meeting the minimum spending limit.

How to Activate Your DashPass Benefits

You must manually activate your DashPass benefits to use them. Open the DoorDash app on your iPhone or Android device, add an eligible Chase card as your payment method, and set it as the default card.

Navigate to the DashPass section and click activate. It should automatically recognize that you’re eligible for a free DashPass membership because of your associated Chase credit card.

How to Use DashPass with Your Chase Card

To reap the DashPass rewards, you need to create a DoorDash account — if you don’t have one already.

DashPass logo

Once your account is active, you need to link your Chase card to your DoorDash account. You must link a card that offers DashPass benefits. If you don’t, then you won’t receive the free DoorDash DashPass membership.

How Much Does DashPass Cost?

DashPass subscriptions typically cost $9.99 per month. But eligible cardholders can access DashPass benefits for free for a limited time, depending on their card. Other cards offer discounted memberships for a limited time, even after the free trial period expires.

DashPass offers free delivery on orders of $12 or more, and DashPass members receive reduced service fees on eligible orders. Subscribers also receive “exclusive member benefits, like priority customer support and DashPass-only promotions,” according to the DoorDash website.

Can I Use My DashPass Benefits with the Caviar App?

DoorDash also owns Caviar, a take-out dining app focusing on local restaurants. To log on to Caviar, download the app and use your DoorDash credentials to log in. Your DashPass benefits are eligible for both DoorDash and Caviar.

Is DashPass Worth It?

If you love ordering take-out, opening a card with DashPass benefits may help you save a little money. DoorDash claims that a typical user can save about $4 or $5 per order with DashPass.

DashPass perks graphic

When you can reap the rewards of a DashPass membership without footing the bill, that’s a good deal. Plus, many Chase cards offer extra cash back on dining, including DoorDash.

If your Chase card offers 50% off a DashPass membership, you will likely need to order one delivery per month to break even on the fee. And remember, if you don’t order out often, it may not be worth keeping DashPass.

Cards with DashPass Can Save You Money

Some credit cards with DashPass benefits can have hefty annual fees, so make sure you’re not paying more in annual fees than you receive in DashPass benefits. Also, check that your favorite dining spots are available on DoorDash or Caviar. Otherwise, it might not make sense to apply for a credit card with DashPass benefits.

If you love getting take-out, opening a card that includes DashPass, or a discounted membership, can help you save money on delivery and service fees. Plus, Chase cards also come with access to the Chase portal, where you can find travel perks, free gift cards, and other benefits. You’ll also get access to cash back, sign-up bonuses, and additional perks.
