Chase Sapphire Reserve Turns 10 With New Travel Offers

Chase is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its Sapphire Reserve credit card by providing cardholders with new and exclusive offers.

Some may find it hard to believe that a decade has passed since Chase first introduced the Sapphire Reserve on August 23, 2016.

Ten years may not seem that long ago to many adults. But the amount of time that has passed starts to sink in a bit more when considering that people in 2016 had yet to hear about AI tools such as ChatGPT or the respiratory illness known as COVID-19.

And while getting older isn’t something that everybody looks forward to, the new offers from Chase can help Sapphire Reserve cardholders save money when they go on vacation. Chase says the offers may not be available to every cardholder.

Those who spend $1,000 on stays at Alila and Miraval properties in the U.S. can get $250 back, provided those locations participate in World of Hyatt, according to Chase. Alila and Miraval both offer luxury amenities.

Further savings on accommodations are available to people who stay at a Wander vacation home. Chase is offering $350 back when cardholders spend $1,500 on a Wander property.

Cutting costs on lodging is a good way to stay within a travel budget, but simply traveling to a destination can also come at a significant expense.

Sapphire Reserve cardholders can help keep those expenses down by taking advantage of Chase’s offer of $125 back when renting a premium car with SIXT and spending at least $500.

And those who prefer to fly can get $200 back when spending $200 with JSX on a semi-private flight. There is a catch to the above four offers: Cardholders must activate them and complete their purchase on the applicable partner’s website by December 14.

Cardholders can also get $125 back when spending at least $500 at IHG Hotels and Resorts in the U.S. on eligible stays. For that offer, cardholders must activate it and pay IHG directly by October 16.

Credit card rewards can help bring affordability to travel, but taking a vacation may not be in the cards in the foreseeable future for every Chase Sapphire customer.

But the card already comes with a number of other benefits — such as complimentary subscriptions to both Apple Music and Apple TV — that people can enjoy from the comfort of their homes. And Chase has updated the card’s DoorDash benefit in conjunction with the card’s anniversary.

Beginning on October 1 and extending through December 31, 2029, eligible Reserve cardholders can get a complimentary DashPass membership and up to $35 a month in qualifying DoorDash promotions.

The $35 comprises a new offer good for $15 per month on qualifying DoorDash orders and two $10 offers cardholders can use for purchases of items including daily essentials and groceries.

The icing on the cake of the Sapphire Reserve’s 10-year anniversary celebration is a contest Chase is running with 10 million Chase Ultimate Rewards points in total prizes. Each of the 10 finalists will receive 500,000 points, and the grand-prize winner will get an additional 5 million, bringing that winner’s total to 5.5 million points.

To enter, cardholders must create a video no longer than 90 seconds about a memorable trip they took in the last 10 years and what it would mean to experience that trip again or take a new one. They must post it publicly to Instagram or TikTok with Chase’s required hashtags, then submit the video link through Chase’s contest website.

Chase’s rules prohibit using AI tools to create or enhance the video and using music, images, or other material the entrant does not own.

A panel will select the 10 finalists, and input from the public will help determine who gets the top prize.

Cardholders have until 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 6, 2026, to enter. Contestants must be legal U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old when they enter and must have been primary Sapphire Reserve cardholders in good standing as of Sept. 15, 2026.
