Key Takeaways
- AI agents can now make stock transactions and credit card purchases at Robinhood.
- Trading with an AI Agent is launching with equities trading only; plans for options, crypto, and futures trading will be available at a later date.
- Credit card purchases with an AI agent are made with a virtual Robinhood Gold Card.
At Robinhood, AI agents are now able to make stock trades and complete credit card purchases on a customer’s behalf.
Here’s how it works. Robinhood customers may bring AI agents from anywhere and simply connect them to Robinhood’s AI-native Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers for an integration with Robinhood.
Once connected, these AI agents can be used to manage and automate trading transactions and make credit card purchases. Robinhood says customers remain responsible for monitoring agents and assume risk for orders placed by their agents.
“Our mission has always been to democratize finance for all, and now, that mission extends to AI agents,” said Vlad Tenev, Chief Executive Officer of Robinhood.
AI Agents for Stock Trading
Ready to begin trading with an AI agent? First, Robinhood customers must open an Agentic Trading Account that is separate from the rest of a customer’s portfolio. So an AI agent only has access to money that a customer deposits into this separate account.
Customers also receive notifications each time an AI agent makes a trade. To stop an AI agent from trading, customers simply disconnect the agent with a tap of a button.

Robinhood customers are able to define investing strategies based on their investment goals within an Agentic Trading Account.
Robinhood’s Agentic Trading is launching with equities trading only. But Robinhood says support for options, crypto, event contracts, futures, and more is coming as it moves out of beta.
Customers Dive Into Trading with AI Agents
Robinhood said Agentic Trading offers varying investing strategies based on users’ goals.
“Some people are setting up hypotheses, some people are doing rebalancing,” Abhishek Fatehpuria, Robinhood’s Vice President of Product Management for Brokerage, said in an interview with Bloomberg. “When we enable customers to connect their outside agents and outside tools, the possibilities are pretty vast.”
AI Agents for Credit Card Purchases
As one of the first products of its kind, the Agentic Credit Card allows AI agents to spend on a customer’s behalf. To begin, connect an AI agent with Robinhood’s banking MCP server. During this setup, customers will connect an AI agent to a virtual Robinhood Gold Card and set a specific spending limit for the card.
Existing Robinhood Gold Card customers can connect agents to dedicated virtual Robinhood Gold Cards.
AI agents only have access to the virtual Robinhood Gold Cards set up by customers. They do not have access to a customer’s primary credit card number or any other Robinhood account information.
Once setup is completed, the AI agent can scan for the best prices and make purchases automatically based on a customer’s instructions. Customers can tell the AI agent what to shop for and at what price to make a purchase. These purchases also earn a customer 3% cash back.
For safety, Robinhood customers may choose to manually approve each credit card purchase before it goes through. Customers also may set monthly spending limits, and they can delete a virtual card at any time.
AI Agents in Cryptocurrency
In March, Trust Wallet, a cryptocurrency wallet app, announced agentic AI features that would buy and sell cryptocurrency. The Trust Wallet Agent Kit allows an AI agent to execute real crypto transactions across more than 25 blockchains.
These AI agents search assets, get real-time prices, and scan trending tokens. According to Trust Wallet, the kit can be built in less than 15 minutes.
The Bottom Line
At Robinhood, AI agents can be instructed to make stock transactions and credit card purchases. Robinhood’s Agentic Trading is launching with equities trading only, but there are plans to use it in options, crypto, and futures trading in the future.
