Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is giving its credit card portfolio a makeover. The hotel’s four-card portfolio in partnership with Barclays is reshaping how members earn and redeem rewards. And there’s a brand-new premium card, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card.
The hotel’s card portfolio offers new bonus categories, statement credits, and free night discounts on Wyndham Rewards cards. The suite includes a card with no annual fee for everyday earning, a card that offers premium travel benefits, and a card offering small business rewards.
“By pairing faster everyday earning with bigger free night discounts, Member Level upgrades and benefits that enhance the stay itself, we’re giving members a clearer, more rewarding path from routine spending to real travel value,” said Scott Strickland, Chief Commercial Officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The new Earner Premier Card is Wyndham’s most premium rewards card. Cardmembers earn up to 8X points on stays at Hotels By Wyndham, up to 4X points on dining, grocery and travel purchases, and 1X points on all other eligible spending on the cards.
A Go-To For Travelers
Doug Villone, Head of U.S. Cards and Partnerships at Barclays U.S. Consumer Bank, called the Wyndham Rewards card program a go-to for everyday travelers.
“The Wyndham Rewards cards issued by Barclays were built for savvy travelers, combining strong earn rates, flexible redemption and practical credits with a loyalty program that’s known for not just great rewards, but ease and simplicity in obtaining and enjoying those rewards,” Villone said.
A Look at the Earner Premier Card
The new Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card offers more than $400 in annual value through statement credits and other benefits, plus a complimentary Wyndham Rewards Insider membership, the company said. Points earned with the Premier Card do not expire as long as the account is open and in good standing.

The card offers several statement-credit benefits, including a $100 eligible hotel credit, up to $120 in meal-delivery credits, up to $100 in streaming credits, and a $65 wholesale-club credit, plus a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit that resets every four years.
Wyndham’s first-ever premium card comes with a $395 annual fee, but it also comes with a rich bonus offer. Cardmembers earn up to 120,000 points when spending $6,000 in the first 120 days of opening the card.
The spending requirement matches those of many competing hotel cards, though Wyndham gives cardholders four months rather than the six-month window offered by some competitors.
Members who reach an anniversary with the card receive a number of benefits, including 30,000 anniversary bonus points, a Wyndham Rewards Diamond Membership, and booking discounts at Hotels by Wyndham. They also earn 30,000 points after booking and completing five qualifying nights with the card, capped once per calendar year.
A Look at the Competition
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts joins other major hotels in partnering with banks and card issuers to offer premium credit cards to members. These premium cards include the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express card, which comes with a $650 annual fee, and the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card with a $550 annual fee.
The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express card has a rich rewards opportunity for new members. They may earn 100,000 bonus points after making $6,000 in purchases within the first six months and an extra 50,000 bonus points after making an additional $2,000 in purchases in the first six months.
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express cardmembers earn 6X points on hotels, 3X points on restaurants, 3X points on flights, and 2X points for each dollar spent on other eligible purchases.
With the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card, new cardmembers earn 175,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after spending $6,000 in purchases within the first six months. Cardmembers earn 14X points on Hotels & Resorts, 7X points on select travel, 7X points on dining, and 3X points on each dollar spent on other eligible purchases.
How Wyndham's Premium Card Compares
| Card | Annual Fee | Hotel Earn Rate | Welcome Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wyndham Earner Premier | $395 | 8X | 120,000 |
| Hilton Aspire | $550 | 14X | 175,000 |
| Marriott Brilliant | $650 | 6X | 150,000 |
How does the Earner Premier Card compare? It rewards new members with 120,000 points after spending $6,000 but new members will have to be quick about it. They only have 120 days to reach this spending goal. Both American Express cards give new members six months to earn bonus points.
The Earner Premier Card offers up to 8X points on Wyndham stays. Hilton Aspire cardholders can earn up to 14X points on eligible Hilton purchases, although point values vary between hotel loyalty programs, making direct comparisons difficult.
How to Use the Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card
The Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier Card is likely to be popular with frequent Wyndham guests who can take advantage of the card’s annual credits, elite-status benefits, and accelerated earnings on Wyndham stays.
New members who are able to spend $6,000 on the Earner Premier card within 120 days will certainly enjoy the 120,000 in bonus points. But this only makes sense if a cardmember is able to pay off the $6,000 in purchases in full without being charged any interest.
